Operation Stand Down

About Us

A stand down is a military term where war- ridden soldiers go to a place of security to receive such items such as: personal hygiene, clean uniforms, and medical care. O.S.D.M. applied the same concept to return the continuum of care to displaced veterans. Stand Downs are typically one to three-day events providing services to veterans such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings, V.A., and social security benefits counseling. In addition, Veterans can receive referrals to a variety of other necessary services such as housing, employment, and substance abuse treatment. The annual stand down is a coordinated event between Operation Stand Down Midsouth, Inc., local V.A.s, other government agencies, and community agencies who serve the homeless. We are dedicated to the growth and enhancement of men and women who have served our country. To repay our debt of gratitude, we provide eligible veterans with helpful resources.
