Most of the Iron-On-Iron program takes place at the Mission’s Calvary Colony facility near Shelby Forest. Located on 150 acres in a quiet country setting, this intensive phase lasts approximately six to eight months. Men attend one-on-one counseling sessions and group Bible studies, while continuing to help with various duties around the Mission’s properties. The men complete Crossroad Bible Institute’s course work to help them grown in their faith in Christ. They are also assisted in setting realistic and attainable goals for their new lives. While at Calvary Colony, they are given Biblically-based classes in subjects like decision-making, personal finance, building healthy relationships, and other useful topics. In addition, classes are available to assist men in gaining literacy skills and securing a G.E.D. certificate. And finally, men enjoy various recreation opportunities, including basketball, softball, disc golf, fishing, as well as special outings.
